Santa Ana

November 25, 2019

¡Hola y'all!!!

Okay so first week in Santa Ana was such a party. I love this place, but wow is it different from La Habra, haha but it is so good! Hermana Franklin and I live in the middle of downtown Santa Ana so we can just walk out of our apartment and go talk to people it's so nice. Also we've been driving a Malibu and I'm just going to say it, I'm a big fan;)

But let's see this week we've mostly just been trying to visit everyone that we're teaching because neither of us know any of them yikes. We switched areas with some Elders, so both of us are new to the area, but we're figuring it out and I love it here so much. There is such a sweet guy named Manuel that was just baptized like two weeks ago, and both times we went over to his house he had a plate full of fresh fruit for us which was so cute. And we also were able to teach someone an "on-the-spot" lesson on a sidewalk, and we taught a cute 10-year-old girl about some commandments, but other than that we haven't had the chance to sit down with a lot of people yet. I wish there were more exciting things to update y'all on, but really truly this week hasn't had a ton going on. A few members in my new ward have already fed us some way good tacos and taquitos though, and that's always exciting:)

But this week I was reading in 1 Nephi chapter 13, and I really like a lot of things in it. Specifically, I love how it talks about "plain and precious things." It says how the teachings of Christ are simple to follow and to understand, and that they are so vital to having eternal happiness! There's a verse that says "Whoso shall publish peace, yea, tidings of great joy, how beautiful upon the mountains shall they be." And I love that:) Christ's teachings aren't complicated and he doesn't want us to be confused. He wants us to "publish peace," be joyful, help others to be joyful, and this is the perfect time of year to think about it (and do it;))!

I hope everyone has such an amazing Thanksgiving! I'm so thankful for each one of you, and I love y'all so much!!

Con Amor,
Hermana Brayton:)
