¡Holaaa Y'all!!!
So so sorry I ran out of time last week to email and stuff, but I hope everyone is doing super well, and that everyone is SUPER excited for Christmas!! Thanks to my amazing aunt Dara and her amazing friend Barbie, Hermana Franklin and I have a cute little Christmas tree that I keep plugged in pretty much 24/7. I literally love Navidad. And we've been doing a ton of stuff to celebrate too!! Last Friday, we had a Ward Christmas Party that was soo cute. They did a little play and it was super good, but Hermana Franklin and the Elders and I were dying haha I love our ward. We don't really have any fancy sound equipment, so they just had normal microphones like taped to their chests or tied around their neck. Good times. On Friday we did a hot chocolate stand that was super fun:) but also we learned that boiling giant pots of hot water are not quick haha oops. On Sunday we had a little Christmas Choir at church, and it was so cute. Not to be biassed or anything, but I just think that hymns in Spanish are so pretty. Like "Silent Night" is so pretty, but "Noche de Luz" just hits different. Last night we went out with the Elders again and did some good solid Christmas Caroling:) we went and visited some of our amigos we're teaching and made them cookies and sang to them, and seriously it was the highlight of my week seeing them just light up.
Oh also this past week, the Elders in another ward asked Hermana Franklin and me to teach the Restoration at a baptism, and that was scary but also cool. The Restoration is the first lesson we teach just about everyone, but standing in front of a room full of people that all know Spanish fluently without any type of notes or anything is way different than just sitting on someone's couch and talking to them about it. So yeah we were pretty nervous, but it went well:) and the girl who got baptized was glowing she was so happy, so it was super awesome.
Also, quick update, our CUTE little friend Eduardo is getting baptized next Sunday!! He is so excited and so am I:) this kid is so smart and has so many good questions. He's also kind of a little bit all over the place with his questions, but it honestly makes me love him even more. Whenever we were talking about who he wants to invite to his baptism, he was really thinking hard about it, and then started telling us about his friend that he thinks would really like it. The way that he was explaining it was so sweet and simple, and it was such a testament to me that sharing our beliefs with people doesn't have to be anything big. Honestly, the gospel is known for being simple, and it's for everyone! And really truly, around this time of the year, everyone's hearts are softened and everyone is thinking about Jesus, so share what you know!
I'm so grateful to be able to talk about Jesus every day and to remember Him. I hope y'all can really feel the love He has for you, and that you can act in faith to help others feel it as well:) I love y'all so much and I hope everyone has a super special Christmas!
Con Amor y Feliz Navidad,
Hermana Brayton:)
