¡hola y'all!!!
How is everyone this beautiful Monday morning?? So good I hope!! This week was a wild one, that's for sure. Hermana Nitta and I are living the life though!! We're really starting to get spoiled in our hotel with the free breakfast every morning and the queen size beds, oof. Good stuff.
But this week we had a few crazy things, and a whole lot of good things! First though, I finally felt my first earthquake. It was actually so funny bc it was super bad or anything. Hna Nitta and I were just up talking, and then our curtains started shaking and her eyes got all big, it was kind of fun though to be honest.
Another wild thing was that we started teaching a new lady this week, but then when we were talking to her on the phone, she told us about all of the evil spirits she had in her house that were straight tormenting her. Big yikes. So we called the Elders that we share our ward with and we all went over to her house the next day so they could give her a blessing. Nothing wild happened while we were there, but the stories that she was telling us were so crazy, like how she'll find random writings on the walls or how every time she prays something falls over. So please keep our girl Monica in your prayers!! She really needs them right now!
BUT something so amazing that happening this week!!! Yesenia got baptized!!!!! Remember the cute Canizalez kids that were baptized a few weeks ago? Well their mom decided to follow their lead and be officially cleansed from everything in the past, and to make her first covenant with God:) It was so beautiful and she looked so happy!
Another really cool thing is that we had a few of the leaders from our church in our area came (over zoom) and talked to all of us almost everyday this week. It was Elder Whiting and Elder Villanueva and their amazing wives. Something that Elder Whiting had us do that was really cool was to make just a one page list about what the Book of Mormon has done for us personally. To be honest though, I feel like I could write a novel about all of the things I have learned or come to understand from that amazing book.
One of the things that I loved from it this week is in Mormon 9, and these are actually some of my girl Hermana Hansen's favorite scriptures, but there in verse 19 Mormon says, "And if there were miracles wrought then, why has God ceased to be a God of miracles and yet be an unchangeable Being? And behold, I say unto you he changeth not; if so he would cease to be God; and he ceaseth not to be God, and is a God of miracles." We know of the stories of all of the many miracles that happened in ancient times, and we also know that God is the same, yesterday, today, and forever, so it just makes perfect sense that He is still working miracles here today! I really think that we can find little miracles in every day. There is ~always~ something good, and ~every~ good thing comes from God, so they must be little miracles, right?
Well I hope y'all know how much love I have for each of you! And I know for surely, sin duda, that our Heavenly Father loves you even more than any of us can imagine! Don't forget it!!
Con amor,
Hermana Brayton 😊
